Cefpet (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) is an oral syrup prescribed to treat bacterial infections affecting dogs or cats. It operates by disrupting cell wall production to destroy sensitive bacteria cells while preventing reproduction to stop the spread of the infection allowing the immune system to destroy it naturally. This action makes it useful for treating infections affecting the lungs, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, or upper respiratory tract (eye, ear, nose, or throat). Note that this medication should never be used to treat an infection caused by a fungus or virus. It may be used in combination with other medications or to treat other unlisted conditions.

Dosage and Administration

Cefpet (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) should only be used according to your veterinarian`s instructions to get the most effective results. It is typically administered one to two times each day at the indicated dosage. The best regimen for your pet will be determined according to your symptoms, health condition, weight, and response to previous treatments. Precautions
